I believe artists view the world differently.  When they see an object such as a cup, artists see curves, colours, and designs, rather than just the object itself.  Art gives me a sense of accomplishment and an outlet for my creativity.  I get to use my imagination and skills to turn my ideas from concept to completion.  Art helps me connect to the rest of the world, as it is all around us.  Art is found in every culture and has been around since the earliest of human history.  I hope that my artistic creations will inspire others and give enjoyment to those who view them.

I tend to gravitate towards abstract and pop art, as it is often expressed in multitude of colours, shapes and contours.  Imagine the world seen only in variations of black and white, it would be extremely dull.  Colours bring life to objects and whatever surrounds them.  They stimulate visual senses and can change one’s feelings, mood, and interpretations of the art work.  The use of shapes and contours lets the artist influence how a viewer perceives the object.   The colours and shapes used in my art pieces demonstrate how I express my ideas and imagination.  I enjoy experimenting and learning new techniques.  Overtime, I develop problem solving skills and evolve as an artist.  

For inspirations, I look to my surroundings.  When my work needs improvements or tweaking, I listen to music.  Music helps me trigger emotions and ideas.  Sometimes I get ideas from the strangest places such as a supermarket.  I study how products are packaged, their logo designs, the type settings used, the shape and colour combinations of the boxes, how the products are displayed on the shelves, and how they capture people’s attentions.  I try to apply what I have learned to my art and hopefully I can turn them from ordinary to extraordinary.  

I have incorporated a lot of animals in my art work because of my passion for them.   Since I was not allowed to have pets at home due to my allergies and the fact that I visited the zoo often, animals became my favorite theme.  In addition, animals come in many different shapes, sizes and colours which make them ideal subjects for me.  By varying the colours and shapes, I can give my animal subjects unique elegance and beauty.
